As we kickoff 2026, we’re excited to share some great news about one of our leaders who was recently honored for his dedication to senior living communities in Virginia! <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Ed Corbeil, Vice President of Operations for Spring Arbor Senior Living, was honored by the Virginia Assisted Living Association (VALA) with the 2025 Senior Living Advocate of the Year VALA Diamond Award, which recognizes individuals and organizations that consistently advocate for Virginia’s seniors and the senior living industry. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Through his work with VALA, Ed has served as a dedicated leader and provided thoughtful feedback on both state and federal legislation as well as regulatory changes. He has represented VALA and the senior living industry at events across Virginia. Ed also has spoken with members of the Virginia General Assembly, the Board of Long-Term Care Administrators, and the Governor’s administration on many occasions. He has offered written testimonies and public comments on a range of bills and proposed regulations to ensure sensible solutions. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n In its announcement about the award, VALA noted, “Ed Corbeil’s leadership, dedication, and unwavering support have exemplified what it means to be an advocate—not just for senior living, but for the people and communities it serves.” <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Furthermore, VALA recognized Ed for encouraging others to participate in advocacy efforts. He motivated colleagues to participate in the legislative and regulatory process and ensure that their collective voice is heard by policymakers. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n We at Spring Arbor have the good fortune of working with Ed daily and experiencing his commitment to our residents and senior living. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n When asked about his reaction to the award announcement, Keith Ensey, Division Vice President of Operations for Spring Arbor Senior Living, said, “We’re all proud of Ed for this recognition. He is a leading voice for the senior living industry across the Commonwealth. His tireless advocacy has supported senior living communities, their residents, and the professionals who serve residents and their loved ones.” <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n We also caught up with Ed about this award.
